The ID Gene Lyo™ Equine Herpesvirus 1 and 4 triplex kit is a qPCR detection kit that amplifies target genome sequences of 2 viruses responsible for equine rhinopneumonitis and an internal control:

a target sequence specific to equine herpesvirus-1 in the FAM™ channel,
a target sequence specific to equine herpesvirus-4 in the VIC®/HEX™ channel
an exogenous non-target positive control in the Cy5 channel
